Continuous Improvement Specialist- Contract

 Arvato Supply Chain Solutions is hiring Value Stream Leader to be a change agent with strong credibility and influence in our organization. The ideal candidate for this role with be able to demonstrate the ability to motivate others and achieve results using strong analytical and quantitative skills while applying Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Continuous Improvement (Manager / Program Director) in this role you will lead the development of current and future state value stream maps and continuous improvement plans, as well as track the execution of those plans across distribution, supply chain and value added services. You will collaborate with Engineering and leadership to maximize the performance of value streams by implementing and sustaining lean conversion principles in order to meet customer requirements. Coach and develop high-level leaders throughout the value stream, to ensure transformation priorities are aligned to the top overall business needs and Operational Excellence thinking is utilized in solution approaches. 


Overall Responsibilities:

As a recognized lean expert, you will identify, develop, and manage projects and initiatives through operational plans by working with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain cross functional groups to determine processes and procedures for execution within all operations areas, leading to greater efficiencies and effectiveness.


As the Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will take ownership to create and improve Value Stream Maps to identify opportunities for production/process enhancement to achieve organizational goals. Directly lead and manage various cross-functional teams of hourly and salaried individuals in support of Kaizen and Lean Action Work Out events. Ensure compliance with standard processes and tools, support the value stream team to develop and follow their personal standard work (leaders and associates), yielding a culture of system, process, and behavior discipline to get results using lean principles. Perform analysis to determine costs/cost savings, building time standards for processes current/new. Facilitate, train, and coach team members in the use of Lean tools.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of supply chain experience
  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 3 years of progressive work experience in business environment working in a management, engineering or team facilitation capacity
  • Accredited Lean Certification or Six Sigma Black Belt is preferred
  • 2-year experience Project Management
