Assistant Vice President, University Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives

The Assistant VP of University Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, under the general direction of the COO, builds market position for the University by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business with corporations, professional organizations, academic institutions etc. that leads to increased new student inquiries and interest in Alliant International University degree and certificate programs. The candidate will be responsible for building a stronger image and brand locally and nationally, growing program revenue streams, and contributing to the University's overall success. The AVP is also responsible for the management of the partnership development local and national team.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Directs budgets, personnel, and resources responsible for strategic partnerships, engagement, and outreach.
  • Develop and execute a local, regional, and national strategy for University partnerships.
  • Enable new revenue pipeline opportunities through the development of existing and new partners.
  • Identify new strategic partners for evaluation of potential collaboration.
  • Lead and coordinate initiatives, activities, and strategies for new business/market development by identifying potential clients, cultivating relationships, soliciting business, creating, and presenting formal business proposals and following up to secure the business.
  • Develop clear timelines for strategy implementation and progress monitoring. Collaborate with other internal partners to set priorities and deliverables.
  • Set quarterly benchmarks or objectives that will inform progress towards annual goals.
  • Oversees the activities and performance of the partnership development team including training, development, and mentorship.
  • Works collaboratively with marketing, admissions, and academic leadership to help develop internal and external activities that lead to enrollment growth.
  • Successfully transition from generating new business to operations which would include a marketing and communication strategy to partner organizations.
  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate documentation of all activities, contacts, and accounts in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Demonstrates thorough program knowledge as well as industry trends. Responsible for obtaining and evaluating information about industry and market trends, competitive threats, and possible business opportunities.
  • Assists in the development of the strategy for geographic and program expansion.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop partner-specific sales tools and collateral.
  • Perform other related tasks, projects, and duties as required, assigned, or directed

 

Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (especially, Word & Excel).
  • Experience with a CRM tool like Salesforce.
  • Effective organization and written and oral communication skills. Experience managing relationships and communicating with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity and ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks according to required deadlines and maintain composure under high stress conditions.
  • Effective leadership skills which emphasize collaboration, consensus building, conflict resolution, problem solving, strategic vision, and intellectual vitality.
  • Possesses excellent customer service skills.
  • Highly motivated, focused, and results oriented.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in management, education, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Ten (10) years of experience in management, leadership, and partnership development.
  • Certifications, Licenses, etc.: None
