Shopping can be very complex: Do I want that dress? Will it fit? Will my friends like it? Can I return it? Can I afford it? How will this impact the environment? Many of these questions need to be answered before our merchants can sell their products – that’s where we want to help them. We continuously work on increasing conversion – and this is what our Checkout Elements are for. They support creating awareness about our flexible payment methods to drive product consideration. They are easy to integrate and offered in a variety of technologies making them extremely accessible to our merchants.


We empower our product teams to solve hard problems – consumer and merchant problems – in ways that our users love yet contribute to our business. You will work in a team as a product manager alongside with designers, data analysts and engineers. The designers in your team will ensure that the products you develop are usable, the engineers will ensure they are feasible and your responsibility is to ensure that what you end up developing is both valuable to our users (they will choose to buy it or use it) and viable for our business (it works for all areas of our business). Your team will rely on you to bring the knowledge about the users’ needs as well as insight from all areas of our business including legal, compliance, sales, marketing and customer support to name a few.


While we empower our teams to develop the solutions needed we also hold them accountable for the results. We are looking for product managers who are excited about having end to end responsibility of their product.

Your key responsibilities:

  • You ensure that the products we create, extend, and maintain are valuable for our customers and viable for our business.
  • You own the product vision for your team and are communicating it across the organisation.
  • You are an expert in the users of your products and deliver knowhow from all parts of our business to your team.
  • You are an expert in your product, being able to fully onboard and train any user to use your products as well as being able to provide support to our commercial teams with product demos or consultation as needed.
  • You are the driver of the complete value creation process from ideation, discovery to development and running of the service.
  • You conduct market research and are always up to date regarding market news, new technologies, competition and the respective implications for your product.
  • You take care of product training courses, the preparation and maintenance of the respective documents.


Your profile:

  • A thorough knowledge of e-commerce - experience with payments is a plus and strong knowledge of implementing hosted solutions (e.g. widgets or iframes)
  • Significant experience with technology-driven products as a product manager, product designer or engineer
  • Agile thinker with a good understanding of the modern, digital product development and delivery practises
  • Commercial mindset – understanding the ways our products can impact a client’s P&L, as well as the commercial drivers of AfterPay’s business
  • An intrinsically driven person who takes ownership and turns initiatives into results
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills – you are able to get others excited for your vision
  • You are fluent in English; German or Dutch is a plus
  • Willingness to travel (international) when necessary and possible
